Germersheim in a nutshell

At the beginning of the new millennium Germersheim presents itself as an international venue with 22,000 inhabitants from over 100 different nations. Almost 2,500 students from 103 nations have come here to study at FASK (School of Applied Linguistics and Cultural Studies of the University of Mainz) to acquire an academic degree in interpreting and translating.

Germersheim not only is a university town for young people but it also offers a good infrastructure, an impeccable education system, social institutions, many shops, and a high standard of living and recreation. In other words, it is a town with a future.

Highly effective industrial and economic relations have been established throughout the world. About 10,000 people are employed in trade, commerce, industry and various authorities.

Geographical position of the town

Germersheim is located in the lowlands of the upper Rhine between the towns of Speyer and Karlsruhe. You can also reach Germersheim from Landau, Neustadt, Ludwigshafen, Mannheim, Heidelberg and neighbouring France via using the excellent traffic routes.
